African American Heritage Monument + Park Dedication

Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Program 10:00–11:00 AM, Community Celebration until 2:00 PM)
Join us for a historic day in Kendleton as we dedicate the African American Heritage
Monument and Park—a first-of-its-kind landmark honoring the resilience, culture, and
contributions of African Americans in Fort Bend County and beyond. This 40-foot monument set
within a 36-acre heritage park will stand as a living legacy for generations to come.
This event is presented by the African American Memorial Conservancy in collaboration with
Fort Bend County Precinct 4. Together, we are building a day of unity, health, and heritage.
While the dedication runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Fit Fort Bend will host their Harvest of
Health event from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the Kendleton Farm grounds—bringing yoga,
wellness activities, farm-fresh produce, and a live cooking demonstration by Chef Chris
Williams.
